TABAC returns but this time it has gone much deeper.
The previous release was more direct: tobacco was the clear center of gravity, fruity, warm and unmistakable tobacco.
This version has more layers around it.
Old Tabac still forms the backbone, bringing that familiar dark, mature tobacco character. Around it, Vanilla Tabac adds softness warmth and a slightly liqueur-like sweetness making the tobacco feel fuller and more rounded rather than sugary. Rose Tabac brings another dimension altogether a faintly wine earthy like plush floral darkness that makes the blend feel more aged, almost like tobacco stored for years among old wooden cask, dried petals and leather.
Then comes the smallest but most important shift: a touch of thick resinous Hainan Oud oil.
It is not there to turn TABAC into an Oud fragrance. It sits underneath everything, almost hidden giving the tobacco more shadow more resin and a darker woody foundation. As the perfume dries down this is where the difference becomes most noticeable. The sweetness becomes quieter, the rose sinks into the tobacco and the Hainan begins to give the composition a dense polished depth.
The overall effect is boozier, darker and more hypnotic than the previous release. There is a feeling of an old humidor, aged tobacco leaves, faint vanilla, dried rose, resinous wood and the warmth of something that has been resting for a long time.
