Aged and cured beautifully from 2021 Mysore Santal is a prime example in Santalum Album heartwood & upper branches category. A larger batch allows me to extend this oil at a wonderful price.
Mysore Santal oil is a rich & full-bodied aroma. A sweet, woody and creamy blend of notes that sings in harmony together. Supporting it all is a buttery, balsamic depth with resinous body and a soft, lingering smoothness that sets it apart from other sandalwoods species.
As the scent develops it discloses soft top notes of heartwood streaked with minty or camphorous whiffs which has a brightness and crispiness to the initial impression. Within the centre a gentle nutty lactic like fragrance appears not sour curdy. It has a unique nearly gourmand facets.
Of greatest value in perfumery, the Mysore sandalwood is a natural fixative that extends the aroma and complexity to fragrances without imparting its own scent. Can be layered together or use as maceration carrier oil for traditional recipe.
