It sits deep inside the attar and gradually makes itself known. Earthy, woody, slightly barny and beautifully rustic, it gives the composition its gravity. As the brighter saffron settles, the Oud becomes warmer and darker, merging naturally with the spices until it becomes difficult to tell where Shamama ends and Oud begins.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSeveral hours later is perhaps the most beautiful stage.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEverything has softened. The initial saffron has become a warm golden trace. The spices feel aged rather than freshly crushed.
